My Wish, For You Is.....

An awesome songwriter that I've had the privilege to meet summed up everything in one song:

"My wish, for you is that life becomes all
that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry
more than you can hold,
And while you're out there gettin'
Where you're gettin' to
I hope you know somebody loves you,
And wants the same things too
This is my wish"

(J. Steele)

This one song took a whole new meaning when Ivy came along.  Sunday Aug 24th 2014 we had Ivy Rose christened at our church. I cant describe the feeling I had to know that my family and my church family were all there to help us welcome Ivy into the Lords family. As my husband and I stood there taking the baptism vows for her to promise to raise her in God chosen way I couldn't help but hear this song playing in my head. Not sure why at that moment I heard those words but thats when the true meaning of the song hit me. I pray that God helps us raise her and show her all the ways of the Lord and that her faith grows as she does.

Here are several pictures from Sunday......

If You Build It, They Will Come......

Saturday Ivy and I met up with Gamma (my mom), Mawmaw and Pawpaw (the great grandparents) and several other family members to watch Gabster play her first ever baseball game.  Gabster is an awesome kid but also a special needs child.

In Calera there is an organization that is called Field of Angels. It is an organization that allows special needs kids and adults to be able to play a sport that they might not ever have a chance to play. They started five years ago with enough kids to have two teams. This year they had enough kids for ten teams plus for the first time they had two adult teams. I heard that there was a 60 year old man, that thanks to this league, was able to play baseball for the first time in his life. Awesome!!!!!

Each kid/adult has a "buddy" who bats, runs the bases, and works the field with them to help them out. Each kid bats at least once and everyone always gets a homerun. Just by watching some of these kids, you couldnt help but smile to see them enjoying every moment on the field.

IVY EVEN WORE YELLOW FOR GABSTER

BUT.....SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME

Then on Sunday morning Ivy and I went to our church for the first time since she was born (she is now two weeks old). Everyone was excited to have a baby at church again.....(apparently it has been a while since there has been a baby there) and Ivy wore her new dress Gamma made. She slept through church as well....

Lots Of Visiting To Be Done

Yesterday morning we took Ivy Rose to meet her great great Aunt Louise. I didn't get a picture though. Wish I had of. Aunt Weesie (as some of us call her) just rocked and rocked Ivy Rose. Aunt Weesie seemed to be glowing to be able to hold another baby. I thought she wasn't going to give her back so we could go home.

Then yesterday afternoon my best friend came by to see Ivy Rose and hang out with us. She spent most of the afternoon holding Ivy Rose or watching Harry Potter movies with us while little bit was sleeping.

Aunt Jemifer

Today we went to visit with her great grandfather, Daddy Jack, and her great Aunt Vicki.

Ivy Rose spent 90% of that visit asleep on either me or her Aunt Vicki. She had the most relaxing postitons while sleeping......

After a long morning of visiting we came home to hang with Daddy before he left for work.

Hope to have more pictures soon, tomorrow we are going to watch Gabster play baseball!!! Maybe Ivy Rose will stay awake for at least some of it
